The Anflo Group of Companies is one with the whole world in fighting against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Don Antonio O. Floirendo, Sr. Foundation (AOF Foundation) leads the ongoing donation drive for the frontliners in the hospitals, the Armed Forces, and the local communities of the Davao Region.
On March 26, 2020, the AOF foundation began the first batch of donations with a unit of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) machine, an equipment that speeds up the processing of COVID-19 test kits. AOFF also gave essential items such as personal protective equipment (PPEs) of plastic gowns, face shields, and face masks to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in Davao City. The items were personally handed over by Mr. Anthony B. Sasin, Board Member of ANFLOCOR, together with Mr. Norman L. Clemente, Executive Director of the AOF Foundation, to Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary and SPMC’s Medical Chief, Dr. Leopoldo Vega. On top of these, the foundation also gave boxes of disinfecting sprayers and gallons of concentrated bleaching solution.
Through the monetary assistance of ANFLOCOR’s Board of Directors, officers, and employees, ANFLOCOR was able to donate 500 pcs. disposable surgical masks, 2,500 pcs. KN95 masks, 1,500 pcs. face shields, 2,450 pcs. bouffant caps, 2,500 pcs. shoe covers, 50 gallons of alcohol, and 500 pcs. lab gowns to three institutions: Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC), and Task Force Davao. ANFLOCOR also donated a total of 740 kilos of fresh pork meat to The Fat Cow Bistro- a restaurant in downtown Davao that prepares meals for the frontliners of SPMC.
The Tagum Agricultural Development Company, Inc. (TADECO) also gave PPEs to Metro Davao Medical and Research Center (MDMRC) in Davao City as well as to some hospitals in Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, and Davao Occidental. Apart from medical equipment and supplies, packed goods containing various Anflo Group products such as bananas, pomelos, and fresh produce such as vegetables, and pork meat were also distributed to the frontliners in the region and to some barangays in Panabo City.
