Davao International Container Terminal (DICT) has gone full swing in its operations in Panabo City, Davao del Norte.Operated by SVT, this container port terminal has started facilitating logistical requirements of major shipping lines operating in the import and export industry like Maersk and PIL. Dole-Stanfilco, one of the investors for DICT besides Tadeco and SVT, also started channeling some of their container shipments through the said port terminal.

Earlier this year,  SVT completed the construction and installation of facilities and equipment in DICT’s 8-hectare container yard and 250-meter berth, complete with rubber tyred gantries and quay cranes. The key personnel manning the terminal operating system (TOS) also went through intensive training in system administration which involves system configurations, vessel and yard planning and other operational processes. DICT’s modern TOS uses Navis Sparcs N4 version 2.4 software, the latest in terminal operation that is employed in most ports around the globe. With DICT being fully operational, SVT is more than ready to meet the increasing need for more efficient port logistics in the region.
