Tagum Agricultural Development Company, Inc. (TADECO), the largest contiguous banana plantation in the world, is once again recognized as among the top export performers in Davao City.
In an official data presented by Bureau of Customs (BOC), a total of 265,529,680 kilograms of fresh bananas amounting to $ 71.68 million were exported by TADECO – making it the Top 2 exporter in Davao City.
Dan E. Oquias, OIC Deputy Collector for Administration of BOC lauded this award of TADECO saying that being among the top exporters is a great achievement.
“This recognition is a manifestation of the company’s desire to sustain growth and push for more advancement,” said Oquias.
He added that besides contributing immensely to the export performance of the Port of Davao, this recognition attests significant economic development in the region.
This award is TADECO’s second recognition from BOC Collection District XII, following last year’s similar acclamation.
On top of the list is Stanfilco, a division of Dole Philippines, with an export volume of 384,618,094 kilograms amounting to $ 194.35 million.
BOC also commended other top exporting companies including Dole Philippines, Inc., Davao Bay Coconut Oil Mill, Inc., and Legaspi Oil Co., Inc. who completed the list of top 5 exporters.
